FAQ

What is the difference between a rendering and an animation?

A 'rendering' refers to a single still image, suitable for print or digital presentation. An 'animation' involves motion, like a camera moving through a space, or fluid flowing through a pipe. Animation is generally delivered as a digital video file.

How do I get a price for your services?

In the case of architectural projects, the best thing would be to send along a PDF set of your design drawings and also at least a floor plan and front elevation in AutoCAD format. Also provide as much detail as you can as to what you're wanting to accomplish and what you want us to do. If drawings aren't available, or if the project is non-architectural, please get in touch and let's have a conversation about the best way forward!

How long does it take to deliver a project?

It varies with the size and complexity of the project. Smaller jobs can take a few days. Larger projects can take weeks or perhaps months. I provide a timeline along with estimates.

Do you provide building design services?

I work with many talented designers, developers and industrial clients to present their own designs and systems. I only provide design services for 3D Printing projects. Depending on your needs, I may be able to point you in the right direction.

What resolution do you provide for images?

Out in the wild, the word 'resolution' is used to mean different things. It's often misunderstood and misused. The meaning of the word I endorse is the number of pixels intended to be printed in one inch. 300dpi means there are 300 pixels in one inch when printed on paper at proper scale.

The word is also often used to refer to 'image size' which is the total number of pixels in an image measured horizontally and vertically. For example, an image rendered for TV in full HD has an image size of 1920x1080.

All that said... there are many things to consider when setting up a rendering to ensure it's suitable for its intended use. Rest assured, we can provide images tailored to everything from display on the web to covering the full side of a semi-trailer.
